This weekend I entered a wedding cake at the National Capital Area Cake Show. I designed it with a unique style that is not your typical "White Wedding" cake. It won People's Choice and second place in the Master's division.

The peacock symbolizes many things. It is a symbol of beauty, prosperity, royalty, love, compassion, soul and peace. It is considered sacred in India. The semi-precious stones symbolize love, protection and luck. The water lily symbolizes life and love.

This weekend I competed in the wedding cake competition of the 2012 Connecticut Cake Competition in Hartford Connecticut. The theme for the show was The Great Outdoors and my cake was the grand prize winner of the wedding cake competition. You can view the pictures here.

A wedding cake for a couple who enjoy the great outdoors and share a love for birdwatching. The majestic snowy owl is a rare sighting for birdwatchers. In Native American culture the owl is a symbol of a new beginning. The snowy owls themselves often mate for life as well.

On October 6, 2012 I will be participating in a fashion competition creating an edible summer dress and accessories to be worn by a runway model. Please support my team. Donations go towards fighting domestic violence at the Ithaca Advocacy Center and Cortland's Aid to Victims of Violence Program.
