I have a new video of me demonstrating a recent birthday cake that I made. It's a stuffed animal of a floppy elephant and his baby mouse sidekick. In it, I show the whole process condensed into 4 minues and talk about a couple of techniques that I use to add more realism and texture.

This has been a great couple of months. After winning 1st place in the Wedding Cake Division at the Connecticut Cake Show, and taking "Best Showcake" at the Austin Cake Show (That Takes the Cake), I recently appeared on the Food Network show Sugar Dome in episode 13 Dangers of the Deep that aired on March 2nd, It was a very new experience that was exciting for me. The last couple of months have been really fun. In several weeks, I will be heading to Virginia's National Capital Area Cake show where I will be teaching a snowy owl sculpting class. On November 11-13 I pariticipated in the 144th Annual Salon of Culinary Art & Exhibition at the Javit Convention Center in New York City. My cake Calling the Spirit Animals Though the Path of the Feather won a 1st place gold metal and Best in the Occasion Cakes category.
